Newborn

    ~for zedekiah

By Lisa Zaran

You will enter the world on blue feet. You will forget the stars were ever born. You will cry out in shock and possible pain. You will clench your fists and beat the air. Your breath will be thin and invisible. Your skin will be thick with vernix. You will weigh less than a fern leaf. You will have years to grow into and then out of your own experiences. You will suffer from pivotal gaps. You will bleed, weep, break a bone. You will fall in many ways, love, two left feet, pride, fear, wonder. Your heart will think and your mind will win races. You will decorate each minute of my life with each moment of yours. I will catch you.
