About iddie

iddie is a typo.

iddie is a misnomer.

iddie is a lie.

iddie is selfish.

iddie is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

iddie may not exist.

iddie is constantly at war with itself.

iddie is all of these things and more, but where did it come from? Freud would say mistyping a word was not really an accident, that somewhere in the depths of the mind, the typist knew exactly what he or she was doing. So we have taken this to heart. iddie (pronounced id-ee) began as a typo. But there seemed to be something more lurking behind those letters. Something basic, primal. Perhaps the Id itself. As writers and artists, we have a basic need that can only be satisfied by the creative force. We are driven, by our own warped pleasure principles, to reach inside ourselves and summon up with words and images something vital and new. Within the pages of iddie lies the embodiment of this creation. And while iddie may be many things to many people, one thing is certain:

iddie loves your mother.
